Dynamic foot lifting orthoses from Perpedes

The dynamic foot lifter orthosis Thönnissen Support supports the foot lifter muscles in case of paralysis. The two elastic straps raise the forefoot when walking, thus achieving a physiological gait pattern. The thermoplastic deformable materials allow the Thönnissen Support to be ideally adapted to the user's foot.

Foot lifting orthoses are always worn in conjunction with fixed, closed footwear (for example, special orthotic shoes).

Fields of application and indications for dynamic foot lifting orthoses

Dynamic foot lifting orthoses are used when walking is impaired due to neuromuscular damage to the foot lifting muscles, which can occur as a result of a herniated disc, stroke, surgery or multiple sclerosis.

Indications include

• Flaccid paralysis in peroneal palsy (paralysis of the peronaeus)
• Poliomyelitis
• Damage to the central nervous system
• Nerve root damage of the lumbar spine
